Located at the southwest corner of Chicago's Grant Park (Roosevelt Road and Michigan Avenue) Magdalena Abakanowicz's Agora installation creates a patch of surrealism in a growing, vibrant urban environment. Its 106 over-sized headless cast iron figures mingle with commuters cutting through the site on their way to, or from, nearby trains. Installed and opened in November, 2006 at the west entry to Chicago's Museum Campus Agora was a gift to the City of Chicago by Magdalena Abakanowicz and the Polish Ministry of Culture and a Polish foundation.
The images in this gallery supplement those presented in the Agora catalogue published by the Richard Gray Gallery in March, 2008. (ISBN: 978-9814775-1-0)
